Chiller Repair

Does anyone know of somebody that works on chillers? I bought one a couple of years ago, and haven't used it yet. The problem is it has sat for a year or two and now it won't turn on. I don't know if it's from the move and the bumping around or storing it in the attic till I needed it is what hurt something inside of it. I plugged it in and nothing happens. No display, no compressor turning on, no nothing. Checked the fuse, and it looks good. Don't have an ohm meter to do an ohm's test across the ends of the fuse. So I don't know where else to look. Any ideas? It's an Ecoplus brand unit.

Wrap the fuse in foil and try it.... For a moment, just to see if it is the fuse. If it still doesn't work then it's not the fuse.

He should be good if he does the work before plugging it in.

When I work on equipment my favorite work order has the operator symptom "will not turn on", they're the easiest to work on... Of course half of them is because the operator didn't plug in the device.

Say, jarrod... You did plug it in, right? ;)

lol, I had a Soldier being tested on an infusion pump, came back with "Unit does not energise", and he turned in his bug sheet with a problem between the incoming line voltage and the first component, which meant a broken solder run. That wasn't the bug we had put into the equipment so one of my instructors gave him another shot at it.

Man, the instructor blew a gasket when the Soldier went to turn on the device and instead of using the on/off button, he attempted to turn in on by pressing the hold/run button. Livid. But in the end, the Soldier just had a brain fart.

I'm not suggesting that you are an aggie... I'm not even certain I know what that means, but sometimes you just have to KISS.
