Cool cops are out there. Unfortunately, we have one cool cop in town, and one who thinks he is some kinda superdupercop. Please realize, there are less than 500 people in my town, we don't even need two officers, but we sure don't need supercop. He won't last long here, folks in this town don't put up with that kind of nonsense for long. Our long time officer is the most laid back, awesome, respectful guy you would ever want to meet. He's been here over 20 years, there is a reason for it.

All that being said, there is simply no excuse for chihuahua complex in a police officer. Glad you met one of the good ones. Most of the leo's out there do realize that we are all human, and we do make mistakes on occasion.

Allan, I feel your pain. My kid was on a first name basis with every officer within 35 miles of my house. Jarrod, I hope everything was ok at home.

When i was in Alaska we had 5 cops for 800 people but we do swell to 5000 during the day when cruise ships were in port. The cops were all cool with the locals. Use to drive the drunk and disoderly home after picking them up and hand them over to their wives with no reprocussions from the law. The wives on the otherhand were not so nice. Reading the police blotter in the morning was always entertaining cause even when they left the names out you still knew who they were talking about. Got pulled over once for speeding and the cop said the only reason he pulled me over was he was inpressed my beat up truck was able to go that fast up hill. Laughed and let me go. Miss that place.

I got pulled over in UC for drifting a corner late at night coming off Kittyhawk from 1604, onto Pat Booker. The cop just laughed and said he was hoping I would have ran. No ticket, just a warning, and I was incredibly thankful. He even complemented me on my skills.

Live Oak on the other hand, sheesh.

A lot of the reminders I write come down to attitude. Be nice and I play nice.

I'm just glad I don't have to run traffic. I would be the bad cop. I would even give my own family a ticket.

I have been stopped twice on my sport bike by cops and I talked to them with the up most respect..... They both let me go.
