T5 retrofitted to LED
Had this 24 inch coralife T5 fixture I was trying to throw on a 20 gallon frag tank for some lps, but the ballast went out. I decided to gut it and put some LEDs in it. I already had the emitters, just needed to get these little drivers at $8 a pop. So I present to you, my frag tank LED system.

very cool............
would be neat to run a few high power leds on some newer T5 fixtures..... best of both worlds IMO

Yes. They are tiny. They also have a pin for PWM dimming. They also have a very wide output voltage range, up to 36v I believe, so you can run around 9 LEDs per string if you want and have a power supply to match it. These are just 5 per string at around 18v. It's also run off an old Dell laptop power supply.

Man that's awesome. I've wanted to possibly gut a fixture to put leds in it. Great work buddy.

They appear to work. Some of these guys are healing from the dt. Something is munching on zoos in and I still don't know what ticked my acans off, but they're happy in here.
