    Default Kinda curious......(RO FILTERS)

WHy is does BRS sell there reef kits with a 5 micron sediment and a 5 micron carbon filter while Buckeye sells there kits with a 1 micron sediment and 0.6 carbon filter...

Ive been blowing through these BRS kits and Im tired of it..... My membrane is semi new but will be ordering a back up just in case... The buckeye seemed to last a bit longer but its a plus ordering from BRS cause of all the other goods....

so what do you mean by blowing through them? maybe its some other factor or water in your area is that dirty?

Well my DI resin turns brown really quick, but my in line meter still reads 0..... My water coming in is about 220.

Im just paranoid, Im getting a little cyano which I have never had in this tank and trying to find the culprit. I replaced one of my T5s, while I wait for my filters to ship....

I never had any issues when using the BUCKEYE filters and its seemed to start when switching to BRS..... Not saying that its the cause, I changed a few things within that time... but that was one.... I want to find which though...

the di changes quick from brs, i dont look at color i go by the tds coming out. so dont worry till it comes up and watch tds coming into di. i have my tds meter measuring in coming water to di resin and out, i also use a pressure gauge on incoming line to membrane when presure starts to drop compared to new filters i know its time to change the pre stage filters

another tip i got from marc levenson was to purge water berfore di, this makes di last so much longer. the newer digital tds meter in his video is great i picked one up at macna and its very accurate.
