Like Cammed said. You would be surprised how much a simple sensor can mess up a car. It probably won't be a cheap 5 dollar sensor though. I haven't seen a seen a sensor cheaper than 15 bucks since my 83 pick for a oil temp sensor which pretty much just superglued to the block. But it shouldn't be more than 120 for a sensor for that car... If they still make it. car parts get discontinued a lot and unless it's popular model, aftermarket companies won't pick up production of the part. At which point that sensor now becomes a whole new transmission just because a new or rebuilt transmission WILL have that part on it. at which point it has just jumped to about 950... I'll be optimistic for ya.

My guess is in the transmission, torque converter.
Might also be timing belt or chain.

Sounds like you need to hang onto this car until the kids are old enough to drive lol. Make them drive it since they scratched and painted it lol Payback

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Just to clarify though. Everything was going peachy and then suddenly all of these problems cropped up at once (on my way into town today). it's not like I've been cruisin' around with flashing engine sign. ;)
So I am thinking all of that is somehow connected...

My guess its going to be some kind of sensor . . . autozone should be able to scan it for you and let you know which sensor it is.

My money is on either ther fuel filter, pump, or sensor but this is going to make them find a problem that was coming up as well which includes your transmission.

Back in the day I use to have a 92 Dodge Dynasty and the car would not go into any gear at all, then when you trun off and turn on again it would work for a bit, I thought it was the tranny but it was just a sensor. save me a lot of money lol.
