RK net module help! FIGURED IT oUT!!!!
For those of you running a reef keeper with a net module and running the mymobilereef app....
how did you get the app to work?
i have the module hooked up and is visible from my Mac and my notebook but the app cannot find it. I know it has something to do with the URL, I only have the IP address, should that be enough?
on my notebook and Mac, I can view and rename everything but cannot adjust the settings or turn them on or off...
all my modules are up to date and all have the 2.0 version for the application to work....
I have looked at the DA site but its a bit complicated...

I assume you are talking about the app on your phone.
If so, there are two cases in which you could access the RK. One, if your phone is connected to your wifi, you can use the private internal IP of the RK to access the device. If your phone is NOT on your wifi, you need to setup NAT in order for your router to know to forward the traffic to the RK from an external port. You will need your public WAN IP for you home network in order to accomplish this.

Yes my phone is on my network when I'm home....
i know you have to do some port forwarding to have access away from home but I just need to 1st figure how to get the app to even recognize the module.... My notebook and Mac do, even my phone when I use the browser.

Interesting. Without ever actually handling a store bought controller, I'm not quite sure.
What settings does it ask for? Does it have a port value defined?

When in logging on to the app all it ask for is the name, password, and urL.... I have the name and password set as I can log on from my Mac... I just can't control a thing.

That's weird you can't control anything. I'm not much help with that part since I have no experience with a RK. I can only help with the networking aspect of it.
What are you renaming and viewing? Outlets?

Odd. Maybe someone else will chime in since I don't know anything about RKEs.

Did you go to settings on the app and put in your IP address with the port forwarded at the end? Mine looks like this
Username
Password
http://###.##.###.##:forwarded port
Where the port is whatever you set it up as. You got my number man, give me a call if you don't figure it out. Chris (BigPun) and I are transferring everything into my new half circle tank tonight....he runs a RKE also I believe. Give me a call if you like. I've used the DA net module for a while, and turn stuff on and off from iPod, phone, work computer, etc...all the time.
