um.. what kind of heater? sometimes you get what you pay for. I've been shocked by so many different brands I don't trust any of them anymore, but some are notorious. Even my high end digital one couldn't hang in salt for very long.Originally Posted by jvene1

My first galaxy died, I was heartbroken. Its one of my favorites, so I tried again when I got over it. I killed mine by mishandling it - the skeleton on these is much more delicate than some of the other common species we keep in our tanks. They can even get damaged in the bag on the way home. If you glue it down, be careful!
They'll do better under ideal light and flow, but I've had a galaxy grow and be 'happy' in a variety of conditions. If yours is still sunken in, I'd bet it took some damage somewhere along the line.
