I got my hands on a flowerpot that had lost half its polyps under the previous owner's care. I have a 30" deep tank with a 4" sand bed. My flower pot has been halfway up the tank and at the bottom (**** urchin) and has done well. Oh yeah, I have two 250w 20k MHs and 2 48" ecoxotic magenta/blue stunners. Currently it's regrowing polyps. I hope this helps. The previous owner had it in a fifty-five on the sandbed under 4 T5HOs.

they do feed. finely chopped meaty food is great for them. A long time a go there was a discussion on if they eat. I took a picture of mine eating a small mysis shrimp. I have since lost that picture, thus not able to post it here. Other than that, they don't require too much flow and can do well in nutrient laden water. Sand bed is great for them as often the creatures in the sand bed often spawned at night and feed them fairly well. I think that is why they have a reputation of needing a dirty tank and and sand bed.

i ahd a real good article ill try and dig up in a magazine, but they require feeding such as phyto and even stuff likr coral frenzy and reef roids. also very good tank parms, low nitrate and phos. again this is a coral that is on the harder side to keep. good luck.

I could do my best with it. I picked up a sun coral at the wife's bidding and only later realized is NPS as well. It wouldn't be much more work to feed them both a the same time. Let me know. This is an offer to adopt it. If you have someone willing to trade you for it... It's your call
