I hope he paid 5 for it.. $50 sounds like aquarium adventure prices.

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

$5 is generous maast member price.

I paid 18 for a frag that size... but I also paid like $30 shipping... so I made sure to get plenty else to make it worth while....

Still, 50 is a little steep, but I can't remember the last time I saw a *healthy* galaxy frag in stores. Maybe out at GCReef, but I don't go that way often. Occasionally small colonies that are half skeleton will pop up, but a good healthy 'toothy' coral frag is a rare find.

It looked really good and healthy in the store and it was encrusting down. I had no idea how much it was worth. I just want it opened up ya know?

No worries, bro. Just busting your chops. I recently got rid of my colony for $10, about the size of an egg. I kept mine on the sand bed, looked like a very gentle flow, judging by the extended sweepers which can stretch out a good six inches. Other than that, it's a very pretty coral.

um.. what kind of heater? sometimes you get what you pay for. I've been shocked by so many different brands I don't trust any of them anymore, but some are notorious. Even my high end digital one couldn't hang in salt for very long.

Is the coral looking any better? (Did you catch the shrimp?)

My first galaxy died, I was heartbroken. Its one of my favorites, so I tried again when I got over it. I killed mine by mishandling it - the skeleton on these is much more delicate than some of the other common species we keep in our tanks. They can even get damaged in the bag on the way home. If you glue it down, be careful!

They'll do better under ideal light and flow, but I've had a galaxy grow and be 'happy' in a variety of conditions. If yours is still sunken in, I'd bet it took some damage somewhere along the line.
