    Default LEAK!!

29G biocube, my coral tank, has sprung a very slow leak. Leak appears to be a weakening of the seal at the bottom front of the tank, I can ID the spot. I know it's probably not possible, but is there ANY way to fix this without completely draining the tank? Tank contains 1 percula clown, 1 oscillaris clown, 1 molly miller blenny and 1 scooter blenny, as well as OODLES of inverts and soft/LPS coral. If I have to, I can move things over to my other tank-problem is, other tank contains NRS inverts and I'm worried about my coral :(. Any advice greatly appreciated!

not a fix it expert but I would move my stuff out. See if you can get a loaner for the time being. You're a charter member so you have access to the loaner tank in the lending library, Elizabeth. Check with Jack and Justin

On it. Had something of a brainstorm and moved all my stuff over to my other tank. My only real coral-hating bugger in the old tank is a large chocolate chip, so I set him up with some live sand in a quickly rigged extra tank (more like bucket....). My real concern now is repair.

I have emptied the old tank completely, and the leak is clearly a weakening of the seam at the front/bottom of the tank. Can anyone advise what type of silicone, exactly, I should be using to fill this after scraping out the current seaming? I have a large container of waterproof silicone, but I'm not sure if it's suitable.

I'm also wondering about plans long term for this starfish and a small amount of sand I couldn't fit anywhere. I'm thinking perhaps I'll try to give them away on here. The tank I moved my guys to currently has a very large number of live rocks (literally brimming with them), but otherwise I think it's looking OK as a semi-long-term setup if necessary.

Lastly, how did this happen, and can I make sure it doesn't happen again? It took me a while to realize the leak was even there, and if the leak had been somewhere else on the tank I'm worried I wouldn't have spotted it before it did serious property damage.

Unfortunately not, but I'm hoping it'll be a relatively easy fix. I've had the tank for 3 years, no problems until now.
