If you can do it, larger water change is more beneficial to get rid of waste and replace essential chemical. A single 30 gal change is more beneficial to the tank than three 10 gal water changes, but not so beneficial to your back or to your peace of mind (the wife complaint about all those unsightly aquarium equipments)
