    Default Identify this chalice please

    Bought it yesterday on impulse.

It's been in the LFS for 3 years, its huge. I'm already thinking about returning it. I had to move a 10 pound rock to the sump in order to have a place to put this monster. I didn't realize how much room it was going to take up and the only place I can keep it is on the sand like the LFS had it.

I have not measured it but its at least 10 inches across.

Holy moly that's big! Not sure on a name though. I'd call it "my precious"!

If you're ever down this way and its still alive maybe you can give me a personal fragging leason. I like it because it's such a huge colony, almost all the chalice i see are fingernail size, its cool to see a whole colony of these guys.

I'm probably the last guy on here who could give you a lesson on fragging chalices. I don't know how.

I've got a hot pink that should have been quite large by now, but I put it on top of a rock and the edges are growing down all the way around. I think it's reaching for the sandbed so it can have something to support it as it grows out.

Bottom line, I can't bear the thought of breaking a piece off. I think sherita uses a band saw.
