Default Profilix 3 VS Reefkeeper Elite....which to use?

I have been using the Reefkeeper Elite (rke) with net for about a year and it has worked fine. Yesterday I bought another complete system that came with a bunch of high end gadgets, including the Profilix 3 controller. I'm going to consolidate things down into just one tank now (144 half circle) and am unsure which controller I should keep and which I should sell. Anyone here have experience or knowledge of the Profilix 3 and how does it compare to the rke?

This is the GHL Profilux3, and I also got some other GHL controller modules.

I think most that use controllers are familiar with the rke...

Let me know your thoughts folks. Thanks!

I posted this on ReefCentral also....here is one of the first replies

"You may as well have asked "I drive a honda civic, I bought a bunch stuff that included a BMW 7-series, what should I drive?
The Profilux3 is one of the best controllers you will find and will run circles around the RKE. OTOH, like the little old lady who only needs to go to the grocery store once in a while and doesn't want to spend much for gas and insurance, the RKE may be all you need..
If it were me, I'd be in a hurry to upgrade from the RKE, and having a Profilux sitting in front of me would save me from having to decide between the Apex and Reef Angel. "

Sorta funny. I thought I was doing pretty good with the RKE, but I guess there is a lot of trickier (higher $) stuff out there. Still looking for responses from local maast buddies. Let's hear it, talk me into or out of one of these decisions.

Come on guys! I wonder if the problem is that not many have even heard of the GHL Profilix3 controller. A while back Lsingh (lucky) gave me some advice on controllers and recommended the GHL Profilux...so I'm hoping he will chime in here.

That's kinda what I am thinking. The Profilux package I have is like $1600. Heck, the basic one is $800 which is a lot more than a decked out RKE system...just gotta see if it's worth going through all the learning process again. More expensive may mean more difficult to learn, and for someone like myself that is not very patient and likes instant gratification....I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do.

The real kicker is that I was about to setup a big cube so I had bought a bunch of controller stuff and other hardware in preparation, now it looks like I'm taking a different route with another tank. I think I have about 9-10 PC4, a couple SL1, SL2, NET, and whole pile of probes and buss cables. If I go with the profilux, there will be a ton of RKE equipment up for sale. Also selling my corner tank and a mountain of other equipment...

Well I will be in for that net and maybe a SL2 and a salinity probe....

But it's up to you what you do...

Kinda hard to select what pricey gear to run...... Lol must be nice... Haha
