I tried to put my d5100 in time lapse and it wouldn't do it. Idk. I got a bit frustrated and went back to just staring at the tank.

It has it in the menu. I looked it up online. It kept saying "could not activate in current state". What state!?! On a tripod! Grrr!

Maybe you have to edit the settings first?
Like set your intervals for 3 seconds?

Some cameras dont have the feature. You can use a timer remote.
You can pick one up pretty cheap on amazon for like 20 bucks. Just hook it up to the camera. Set your time and let the camera do its thing.
