    Default Rinsing GFO?

Getting ready to change GFO and Carbon in my dual BRS reactor tomorrow.... Whats the best way to rinse to ensure I don't get a repeat of last month???

How long did you rinse the GFO last time? Did you run it through the reactor or rinse it prior?

i usually run about 5 gallons thorugh my reactor after changing carbon and GFO during a water change. I figure I have to remove the water for the change anyway I might as well rinse the new stuff in the reactors at the same time....depends on how your plumbing is situated this may be easy or a pain.

i just dump mine in a reactor and run a couple gallons through it into a bucket, or until i can see its clear inside the reactor.

That's what I was going to do too. I'm actually installing reactors with carbon/GFO today, assuming my package arrives.
