San Diego is always cooler (in the coastal communities) which I loved. Im hot natured so my personal perfect comfortable weather shorts and a T Shirt is lower 70s and that what we got there during the day, morning and late night we had 60s.
My wife was is cold natured and we just made sure she carried a lite jacket with her at all times and she was fine.
Whats crazy is watching San Diegos weather forecast on their local TV
They give 4 separate forecast for Sand diego
Coastal, inland, Mountains, Desert. When we were there we were getting High 60s Mid 70s coastal which is where we stayed our entire trip, but folks in the mountains and desert we getting temps of 110-120 degrees!
I friend told me the temp swing from the coast to the mountains/desert can be up to a 50+ degree differnce! Wow.
So you know all that you want to do is on the coast. Sea World, The Zoo, Beach, Lighthouses, Kayaking, surfing.... We had no reason to leave a 20 mile radius while we were there, but managed to put almost 300miles on the rental car from just cruising from place to place and exploring all the little niches.
