Thread: restart

    Default restart

Have any of you had to do a restart due to aptasia, Im weighing my options and im thinking I have just to much of it to really be cured by peppermints. I only have a hand full of coral frags and I can easily set up a 20 gal tank for them. and I only have about 6 fish and none of them are bigger then my clowns. The fish im worried about are my green spotted goby and my carpet anemone.

you would be surprised at what those peps will do. i had an infestation in my 250 and decided to try peps. i added about 30 of them, and they took care of them in a matter of weeks.

yep, very much an infestation. the only issue may be the large ones. you may have to use kalk paste or aiptasia x on them

You might laugh, but I swear by this method for big ones. Get a coffee cup with tap water. Nuke it in the microwave until its boiling. And I mean boiling even AFTER you take it out. Then get a syringe with a fine point or a needle and just spray the heck out of the aptasia. They melt pretty quick if the water is hot enough. I would do this with my 75g and it worked great

I heard injecting lemon juice was effective too. Of course, if you have the money, and time, you can get a 1w laser and melt them too. That's extremely dangerous though; FYI.

I used two Peppermint shrimp...they work as long as the Aptasia is smaller than the shrimp.

Peps work great, especially the ones that we brought back from the coast, when we went collecting on the jettys for the Maast Trip.
