    Default Rodi Location.

I was getting ready to set up the rodi unit in the garage, but with this heat its like a oven in there. So Im thinking of a different spot. Curious to see where everyone has theres set up at..

mine is in garage, if do water change early in morn water temp is usually at 78-79. as long as it isn't in direct sunlight it's ok. actually I like summer and my filter the warmer weather helps make water faster, in winter it seems
    to slow down.

Problem with my house is the way its facing. The garage door gets blasted with sunlight during the hottest part of the day. So maybe I could run it at night when it cools off. That should give me more than enough water for a water change. Would the filters get damaged sitting out in that kind of heat during the day?

That's what I do, usually make water late at night... And store a 5 gallon jug of RO water for top offs inside the house house on the floor.... If I am going to change water and it's too warm, i pop in a couple frozen bottles of water.. It works fast to bring the temp down....

I put mine in the closet.

My garage also faces the sun noon till dusk. Hot has heck in there. But it's also not convenient for me to haul water up from the garage. From the closet I just roll the bucket up to the tank.

    Hmm.

Temperatures over 113 void the membrane warranty - so regardless if the water is running or not - if the membrane is soaking in a housing of hot water, you'll damage the membrane.

The other issue is that you'll have your system components soaking in hot dechlorinated water between uses - not a good situation.

Its best to put your system in a heated/air conditioned location.

I put mine in my laundry room supplied and draining off the washer connections. This keeps it cool and easy to connect. I ran some PVC through the attic as conduit and piped it to the fish room. Works great.

Thank you for the information Russ. Looks like under the kitchen sink it will be. Time for a trip to Home Depot tomorrow morning.

Not only that, but in the winter, when temps drop, you'll have less production.
