Mine is opposite, at night he shrinks into a nice little ball and in the morning when lights are on he expands.

anemone need a very stable tank, and good lighting. hate to tell you this but if it's been unhappy for weeks it's not going to get better. I would toss and wait to try again. by keeping it in there you risk all other live stock

I had the same experience in my 38 gallon tank it would do the same thing the is doing. I would take it out bc mine eventuality nuked my tank and it wasnt pretty.
So what i decided to do is put it in a quarintine tank...It has attached to the back wall....havent seen any tentacles yet..Its a 2.5 gallon nano i just havent had time to setup...its just been sitting there empty except for the live sand & water. Ive got a 13 watt flourecent bulb over it.So if it does decide to take a turn for the worst at least it wont nuke my main tank.
