I always thought for the price you might as well go with a tunze wave maker or a vortech mp-10 if you have a smaller tank. I use a JBJ dual ocean pulse wave maker on my 60 gallon to mix up the circulation. They run about $65 for the dual controll unit. That and a couple of hydor evos would run about $135 combined.
I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member.

Well I have two k3's and was just thinking if getting the controller

Hmm ok then I will just keep them as is until I can get my hands on an mp-10

Yeah, chatter with the k series, I've got the evos on a wave maker and disconnected them the other day. Most of the time when it would turn the evo on, it would run backwards.
That way it doesn't have a whole lot of movement in the tank.

I have 2 hydor koralia evolution 1400's attached to this wavemaker. Does the job with minimal noise. I here the water flowing from my refugium more then the pumps.

I just hooked up to Koralia 2's to my DA Reef Keeper and solved the chatter issue by affixing a glass bead just ahead of the propellers. No more chatter. I've been watching for any issues and haven't seen any problems yet. Has anyone ever tried this?
I've used the hard tubing before. Worked for me until I lost it when the cap flew off.
I've had that problem, the cap would torque loose because the twist on design. But you will either have this problem or you won't. I believe of my four pumps only two gave me problems until I swapped them for the evo series.
