And here soon I will be making a visit to Pollys Pet Store in UC to check out those tank setups and talk reef. Mr Cob do you have a physical store location? I noticed you have an option of picking up orders, but only on certain days and times. So not sure if you have a store front or are working out of a warehouse, would love to come by and see your setups as well.
Not a problem I am always happy to help out a fellow reefer, especially a newbie because I wish there was somebody there to help me out while I was learning. I actually work at the New Braunfels location and wont be back until May 9th (I am finishing up my final semester at Texas A&M). The guy to talk to at UC would be Randy, he is a very knowledgeable dude as well. Look forward to meeting you sometime.

Not at the moment, we are an online vendor and the local pickups are just a way to meet up with our local customers.

Another note on refugiums/sumps, I always like to skim prior to the refugium as to not eat up all the good stuff that comes out of the refugium and sent into your return pumps. A split design works well also. Intake section, then skimmer section and refugium parallel to one another and then the 3rd section as the return (which is also the section you hook your auto top-off to).

here's a simple design, one of my older sumps with skimmer first section:

here's the sump that supports our 220g and 85g, both tanks dump to this sump :

Actually I am about to go pick up a used acrylic 145 Gallon tank, woohoo. Just a tad bit taller and longer, and not as wide as I intentionally wanted, but will still fit the space. Now just need a sump tank and a stand. Then of course all the equipment. But I am finally on my way.

Ok, I got it home, however it wasnt acrylic, which is what I was hoping for (I have a 2yr old that likes to take his toys and hit things, hopefully he will avoid the tank, lol). I will be uploading pics of it soon.
