Default Skimmer pump in filter sock chamber????

I have a Pro Flex model 2 sump I am trying to fit a Aqua c urchin pro skimmer into. The only way I seeing it working is if I snake the pump into the first chamber where the filter socks are and place the skimmer body in the second chamber where the fuge would nomlly be(not running a fuge anyway). Will it be ok for the pump to in the first chamber where the overflow water comes from? excuse my crude drawing....

I assume it would be fine, with the caveat that the filter sock is not going to block the skimmer pump intake.

No the filter sock dosen't reach down far enough to block up the intake, plus I may only run one sock at the opposite end of the chamber that the pump is in just to be certain there is no obstructions to the pump intake. Plus I hear these socks clog up fast and need to be replaced often, if this is true I may not even run them at all.

Yes, they do clog pretty quickly. Plus the new filter socks can make the skimmer go nuts when they are first added.
