Tiger sand conch

I bought one today it's about an inch. I read they were really good at keeping sand clean and since I have a diatom thing going on I bought the little tiger. Was it a bad move for a 14 gallon biocube? He resides with 2 nassarius and 2 nerites. Would this purchase be okay? Please give me your imput.

I have always liked the ceriths, both florida and the dwarf. They clean the sand, rocks and glass very well. Plus they are cheap! Ive never owned a conch though.

Never owned a conch but it's always a good idea to research before you buy something. I am guilty of it too! I used to do it all the time.

I've got one too. They only get to be a couple of inches. I've read that they are algae eaters, not detrivores, but I'm not sure if that means cyano and diatoms too.

Reefcleaners recommended a 30g for this sort of critter, but if it's only an inch you'll be okay with him for a while. If it seems like he's hibernating, trade him to a larger tank before he suffers.

Thanks so far he is just eating and cleaning. Super cool little vacuum fella. Hope to be able to keep him. I have a red firefish goby, he should be okay with a yellow clown goby, right?

They'll probably be okay. A firefish is called a goby, but is a dart fish, while clowns tend to perch on rock and corals. Since they occupy a different niche, they should tolerate each other. In small environments, there is always a chance of a fish feeling that it's niche is threatened, but you should be okay with those two.
