Thread: Dogs that like fish/reefs!

    Default Dogs that like fish/reefs!

Not sure how many of you have dogs that watch the fish in your tank, but one of my dogs loves it. Her name is "horse-face", she is a Leopard Catahoula and she will watch the fish in my tank all day. She occasionally will stand on her hind legs and lick the glass. She never goes crazy and scratches at the tank, but is wrather calm and definetely notices the fish and tries to check them out. Just wondered how many other people have noticed this. I have a 1-year old pitbull (a sweetheart) that doesnt even notice we have a tank in the house, but my other dog is very observant.

Only the cats love my tank.

Those are some cool pics. She really seems to love the action in your tank.

Randy, that second pic is awesome! It would make a nice avatar.

And re: cats who like the tank, our big fat not-so-bright cat grew accustomed to the 42g brute full of RO water that we had in the kitchen for about a week and she especially enjoyed lying on top of the tightly closed lid and napping there. Imagine her surprise on water change day when she went to make her usual leap and this time the lid was off. Splash! NOT a happy kitty!

No dogs. But this little kitty loves my tanks. Not even sure I had anything in this tank at this point.

We have two small dogs and two cats. One of our cats loves watching the fish swim. He will spend hours a day sitting on the mini fridge observing the fish swim or perch next to the QT. The rest of the animals don't even notice what's going on with the tank. I have the QT setup on the floor of the office next to our DT and I thought for sure one of the dogs would be a little curious about it when I have it set up with fish but they don't. I think it's kinda neat you have a dog that finds it interesting.
