    Default 29 Gallon Tank

    Hello everyone,

I just have a quick question. I have a 29 gallon tank that i recently set up a few days ago. The tank is about 4 years old. Its been empty for the past year and a half or so. Anyways, i noticed that the tank is bowing out slightly on the top on the front and the back. its bowing out maybe by like 3mm or 4mm or so. I did some googling and some people say that its normal for a 29 gallon to do this since there's no center brace. other people have said it should do this at all. i dont remember if it did this when i first bought it. Does anyone have a 29g that does the same thing? is it safe to keep it set up or should i drain it and just go and buy a new one?

    Thanks!
    -Andrew

keep it. The reason that there is trim on the larger tanks is because that occurs. A 29 doesn't require a brace because the amount of flex is insignificant. I'd let it run, as long as the seams are good. The glass won't break, if that is what you are asking.

thanks for the reply! yes the glass breaking is what i was worried about. ive been looking for leaks on the seams a couple times a day for the whole weeks its been up and nothing is leaking or dripping.
