    Default Best test kit

Ok, folks, who makes the most accurate overall test kits? I'm not sure of the overall accuracy of my tests.

That's a hard question to answer.
I used to swear by Salifert, but have had great results from the Red Sea kits. I really like the redesign of the kits that Red Sea did as they are much easier to use for me.

If you got money to burn, Lamotte. But, for the rest of us, I'm with John. I used to swear by Salifert, but I tried the new Red Sea kits and they are sweet. Nice sturdy plastic boxes, great agitators, syringes, easy to follow directions, and accurate results that I've seen so far.

I know people knock 'em all the time, but API kits are great for daily testing. I use them and then use the more expensive Salifert and Red Sea kits for monthly tests or when the api kits show something weird.

Yeah, I still swear by the Salifert kits - but I've not tried the Red Sea.

I've had many problems over the years with API, so I just don't trust them. After having a problem with a pretty well known brand, I don't trust any of them right out of the box: Test a new kit versus your old, and make sure they agree. Don't assume the new one is right.

Just like Cory stated... Lamotte if you have money to burn but I use Salifert.
The person that first ran with scissors ruined it for the rest of us.

i had a lamotte kit and despised it

salifert if you dont mind the price

ive had really great experiences with API. super cheap and super easy to use. i tested accuracy multiple times at the lfs and they never failed me

Hanna.....I like the digital readout, and they provide much higher resolution than any of the color matching test kits. I use Hanna meters for alk, phos, and calc.

Thanks. I had planned to use Hanna meters after Mr Saltwater Tank's recommendation.
