    Question redtip anemone

I have a very large red tip enomone that when I moved everything from my 65 gallon to my new 100 that it moved underneath a cave rock. Now it is missing. I have looked all over my tank and can not find it. Do I need to take all my rock out? I did get a flash light and look into the cave. The water paramiters are good. Do they go under the sand? I gues I ought to almost empty the tank and seriously look for it. But that is alot of work. Do they just appear again? Thanks for any help.

How long has it been MIA?

You would be surprised at how small of an area they can hide. I do not have a bubble tip, but my carpet anemone is about 6" across when opened and I watched him come out of a hole that my hermits can't fit in.

I would only worry if it has been unseen for a long period of time. Any chance that a power head or the over flow got it?

    leave it alone.

it will recover. If my experience is any gauge, you have a very white looking nem. This will last for a couple of weeks, before it colors up again. I think you and I have the same kind of nem.

Also, the nem is like the heart, it knows what it wants and will not be persuaded. Trying to change its mind will only serve as an irritant and in the end you will still be relegated to housing him where he comes to rest.

Just leave it be for a couple of weeks. You may, if you want, give it just a little jet of food when you feed the tank. But I certainly wouldn't give it a large meal.
