Amen! I don't think there's any other way to find a reefer's house. GPS isn't always correct.

I am shopping for new stirrup irons and am balking at the idea of spending 100 bucks on stirrup irons (which may very well last me a DECADE!) but remember feeling utterly okay with spending twice as much on fish and coral on a regular basis.

I went to the mall a few months ago with the wife... A dude walked up and asked "salt or fresh?"

We talked for a few. Cool guy, but has been out of the hobby for a number of years.

When you get up in the middle of the night to use the facilities and then decide to check on the tank/s since you are up anyway.

And you know you are a "real" reefer if any unusual noise coming from your tank will bring you up out of a dead sleep faster than an alarm clock (or when there is NO noise at all, and there should be).
