    Default My February photo thread

Yea, got sleeted in today. So I took pictures

my Tyree Bazooka Joe is growing nicely

I got this at nextwave last year. It is turning out to be a spectacular orange/red chalice

How about some crazy spotted shrooms?

I call these "Candy Shop". Yes, they are that yummy looking

    A strange Cats Eye morph

Cornbred Lava Eye chalice, grown from one tiny little eye

    Cornflower zoas

I am not sure what kind of leather this is, it's the color of pink cotton candy, so that's what I call it. It is NOT a devils hand, or any other kind of leather I have ever seen.

Emeralds on Fire zoas. Yes, they are the real deal

I got this sweet favia from Mr. Cob a little while back. It's lovely!

Gold Coins zoas (mine, I named them).

How about a giant green shroom. It's not really a hairy, nor a frilly. I'm not sure just what it is.

    Gobstoppers anyone?

Lovely. I would call the shrooms "Sherita's Blue Ring Octopus Shrooms," and charge like $50 a piece for their offspring. Intant LE corals. lol

    Here's more eye candy

They look like Hornets, but I am not sure

Leptoseris. I have been trying to get one of these for a while. It wasn't in the best of health when it came in, but I think we are out of the woods now.

    Magicians palys

Melting Lava chalice. This one is going to rock when it gets bigger

Paradise Zoas. they are itty bitty

Purple Armageddons. Another I have been chasing for a while. Really nice in person

The pride of my ricordia collection. This thing just glows under actinics. HOT purple.

So, are you sick of pictures yet? No? Ok, here's more

    Rainbow Rhinos

How about some bright orange zoas?

A jewel box rock of shrooms

    Superman shrooms

    Triple Reds. Really colorful

These are NOT Fairy Dust Palys. They are some kind of pale pink, very pretty zoa. I need to give them a name.

    Another odd shroom

    And a carpet of zoas

I like the cats eye, cornflower, and hornet-like zoas.

On a side note, I know chalices are really popular, but I don't know if I understand why yet. I've seen a few that are amazing, but IDK if I'm on board with them yet. Convince me! Keep in mind, one day I didn't appreciate SPS either, now I think they rock.

Thanks! I've been practicing with the camera! I am hoping to upgrade to a D90 later this year.

You know, I didn't use to like chalices much either, but they grew on me. I like them because of the multitudes of different colors, and when you look at them closely, they are just mesmerizing with all of their details. Under actinics is where you will see why they attract people, they look nothing like they do under regular lighting. It's amazing.

Maybe I need some in-person convincing. I hope to pick one up once my 210 is in full swing.
