Anemone Help

Got a question. I have a RBTA that split a few months ago. Well both pieces share the same hole in the rock. Do I need to move one of these? Will one try and over take and kill the other one. Could this be why after the split it has not regained it's color? If I do need to move it, what is the proper way to get it loose from the rock?

Leave them be. They won't bother one another and will move if they want to. Our splits often hang out so close that you cannot even tell it's two separate anemones.

It is normal for the newly split nems to take a day or three until they look right. It's tough on them. Be sure you don't try to feed them right now.

I totally agree with Kristy. The clones will move on their own if they need to. Plus trying to remove an anemone from a rock is pretty stressful for them as well, I think that would do more harm than good.

Me too, leave them be.

I'd add on to kristy's coloration issue. Mine has taken a few weeks to a month or so to get colored. And they've split and I never knew until one day I realized that there was three of them there.

Thanks guys been trying to Sheila that, she thinks the clone needs to moved. So I will let her know that they are fine where they are. Kristy that sounds like ours, they are so close together they look like one. Guess I will stop feeding it and just let it grab the food particles that floats by. But if it doesn't regain color and health what can I can feed it. Or what do I need to check for in my water parameters that my be high that might stress it.

Well usually the mouth isn't intact for a few days so it cannot really take in food or digest properly (since the split is at the mouth). So until that heals up, it just doesn't eat. Just the basics on parameters, assuming there is no reason for ammonia or nitrite in your tank then just check on pH and nitrate and make sure they are reasonable.
