Default Worth trying to save pump?

I have (or had, I should say) a Sedra 9000 running on my asm g4x skimmer in my classroom tank. Well, over the 2 week break the school was closed each time I tried going to add water to the sump (rubbermaid trash can) so the pump over heated and froze up the impeller in the shaft. Should I just chuck it? Or does anyone think it would be salvageable if I take the time to pry it out?
Don't put the price on the bag please.

probably depends on how likely you are to succeed? I do replace impellers -usually for snail damage or something. Not sure how hard it is to get a melted one out?

it is near impossible to get a melted impeller out. i'd say chuck it. even if you can pry out the impeller, it would be much louder, best case scenario.
