Dipping procedures...
Can someone enlighten me on the dipping procedures? I tried to look it up a few times, but it's a hard term to google. From what I understand though, there are dipping solutions, and it's best practice to dip the corals for 15~ mins prior to acclimating them to the tank? Also, what about macro? And I'm aware dips don't work on red bugs, that's what interceptor is for.

Since I am doing another thread on dipping... thought I would clarify. You are talking about dipping to remove pests? If so, I like CoralRX.

I think so. Maybe that is my issue, I'm not sure what else you would dip for. In what other circumstances would you dip?

For corals, people do freshwater dips, hydrogen peroxide dips (to remove certain nuisance algaes), pest removing prodcuts like the Coral Rx and others, and then the iodine dips....
I'm about to dip with Lugol's which is a strong iodine dip. To quote the bottle: "Iodine essentially bonds with oxygen to form non-toxic zooxanthellae and enabling the host organism to open fully."
