Firsts for 2012...

Had our first good amount of water on the floor tonight for 2012. While switching out sumps on the 140g, I accidentally knocked the drain bulkhead and immediately got water pouring out everwhere. Of course onto the electrical stuff which tripped the GFI plug (highly recommend getting one- this one is an external GFI outlet cover that plugs into a regular outlet to make it GFI). I managed to stop the leak (fingers crossed) and once everything dried out, everything came back on.

Which leads to my other first for 2012... my first electrical shock of 2012. While plugging stuff back in, I got a little shock from accidentally touching the metal part of the plug while fixing the light timer. Nothing like a little shock therapy...

Anyone else have any firsts for 2012?

off topic as to Reef'N but this 2012 was My First Countdown Experience.

Was in my car heading downtown to any Club that wasnt Jam Packed but was bein Shot Down buy EVERY PARKING LOT with a SIGN Stating "LOT FULL" as i Knew would Happen ! But the Women in the Car said nuhuh lol so as the Countdown Gets Closer and Traffic Remains at a Stand Still. a Romantic Light Bulb Explodes in my Head. as i Speed Up to a Parking garage in Desperation and Pull a Nascar Experience and Spin up and around 10floors to the Top to Get out of the Car at 12:02 and Look out at the Greatest Sight Ever ! we could see a Horizon of Fireworks spread across the House Tops of San Antonio, what a sight it was and an unusual way to Celebrate a New Year. a Great way to Start i say

I think I am trying to flood mine as we speak. I just attached an ATO onto the 40g tank, but it isn't attached to any controller or float valve. How long can it drip, drip, drip before it floods?

Mike, I had my first shock of 2012, sticker shock. I went into LFS over the weekend to get some snails and hermits for my 90. Just for 6 snails and 12 hermits came out to $25 plus a $2 for a credit card usuage. Sheila had to pick me up off the floor.

Yep I kind of had the same excitement too Saturday night, woke up on the couch right before midnight. Turned the TV to channel 4 and saw the fire works, reached over and told my wife Happy New Year, gave her a quick kiss and off to bed I went.
