    Default Window of opportunity

How fast do fish claim a territory.
I love my new chalk basslets.
I got several to create a group since they do better in groups and also look pretty awesome.
One arrived dead and one hasn't been seen since yesterday when I got them. The other two are doing great.
But two is kind of a small group.

The thing with basslets is you need to introduce them all at once or else they will defend their territory.
How fast do you think they claim one?
Is there a chance I could zip around town tomorrow to see if any LFS have a lone basslet for me?

    Or too late already?

Having no basslet experience, only general fish experience, I would say tomorrow should be fine. They may have a preference already but they probably don't feel confident that they own the tank yet. Find one bigger and introduce after lights out.

Sorry that you lost half. The photo is terrific!

Karin my only fear would be LFS fish direct into the display? I had them before in a tank and did a split one pair one week and a pair the next and they were fine. Good luck!

Well I doubt I'll find another so I am just happy that the two I ended up with enjoy each others company so much. I'll just pretend it's a pair. ;)
It's very difficult to get fish out of the 215g reef. So releasing them with the intent to catch them and switcheroo seems too much of a pain.
    Two it is.

In Austin? Hm. That's kind of far. I'll see how desperate I'll feel in the morning
