Are the sides of a 10g not tempered?

I drilled this tank in the back, I have no idea about the sides. But I can promise you that the sides of a 55g are tempered, LOL.

I wouldn't try it, but I know someone who drilled their 55s in the back; so not all 55s are tempered all around. I thought when tanks were tempered, they were tempered all around. I have refrained from drilling 10s and 55s for this reason. And when I said 'sides' I meant front/back/sides. I guess with 10s being so cheap, maybe it's worth finding out.

I have drilled two 10g's, one 30g and *ahem* attempted to drill a 55g (that didn't work out so good, lol). All my successful drillings have been on the backs of the tanks. I imploded the 55g when attempting to drill the end. I have also drilled a 40 breeder, 110 shallow reef, a 72custom and a 75g. The 55g is the only one that didn't work out.

Drilling a 10 requires a real light touch, that glass is so thin that if you put too much pressure on the drill, you don't have a tank anymore.

Cool. I think I will have to give it a try.
