Saving money in this hobby

As many of you know, I love saving money. So year after year, I always sign up early for the next MACNA event before the price goes up. If you've not done so yet, you have a few more days to get registered at the lowest rate of $85. Oct 1 it jumps to $109, and for some of you that difference is the price of a new frag for you tank. I've enjoyed coming to various MAAST events in the past, and some of you have attended Next Wave here in the DFW area.
September 28-30, 2012 - the last weekend of September next year - that's when MACNA comes to DFW. We will converge upon the Sheraton hotel in downtown Dallas for three days of non-stop fun. Make plans now and tell everyone that matters in your life that that weekend is now taken, a full year in advance. Your reefing vacation, your MACNA-experience, it won't be pushed aside by something less enjoyable like having to move, paint a house, fix a transmission, etc. Lock it in now so it can't be taken away from you!
More than ever before, I personally want all your MAAST members to attend. In the past 10 years, MACNA has come to Texas twice. Here's your third chance to NOT miss it. You can register at www.dfwmacna.com and reserve a room at the Sheraton as well. If you guys want to buddy up in rooms to save money, go for it. Carpool or charter a bus ride to DFW to keep travel costs down, and use that savings to buy new gear, purchase raffle tickets, and eat with friends.
The reason I impress upon people year after year to attend MACNA is because it will save you money. The education you take in will save you hundreds of dollars in mistakes, and the gear you win in the raffle is better than the stuff you had to settle upon because it was all your could afford. You'll learn tricks that keep your livestock healthy and safe, which protects you from having to repurchase stuff trying to get things right. And you'll know the difference between a good and bad purchase from what you gleaned during conversations with others at the event.
