    Default ** LEAK **

I sprung a leak in my tank AGAIN.... this time its from my 1-2 yr old Reeflo Dart.. Its still under warranty so its covered but i have a few questions i need help with..

    1. How long can my tank (150g FOWL) stay without the sump-to-tank circulation? I have 2 blowers in there now that create movement but is that enough? if so for how long? (i need to ship the pump back to reeflo so it could take a 7-10 days)

    2. Is it possible for this pump to create some sort of short or shock to the water? Yesterday when we were taking the pump off, it was unplugged and I was wiping the water that had leaked on the woodfloor of the stand and i kept getting shocked.. we took out the pump and cleaned it up, plumbed it back left it unplugged and shocked again.. away from area (water) = no shock... back in place on the floor (water)= shock..??

    3. Lastly does anyone have a reeflo sequence dart that i can beg, steal, borrow or rent while mine is being replaced?

Your help would be very much appreciated

    Thanks
    Thelma

    1. by blowers you mean power heads right? if you have powerheads I'd run it right to the surface to encourage gas exchange. I'd get some kind of HOB filter to keep water somewhat filtered until the new pump comes in, but I would think by the time the filter started 'filtering' it would be about the time that the new pump comes in. You're better off scoring an operating pump from one of the members.

    2. you have a faulty ground somewhere... may not be involved with your pump. Good luck with that. Electricity hurts and water makes it worse.

    3. If a member doesn't have one, how about the lending bank here on MAAST. If not the right pump, can you make do with a standard pump?

Thanks for replying so quickly Allan

Yup i meant powerheads i have 2 of the Koralia Powerheads but i also have a Tunze i can prob throw in there.. I'll move them up to the surface tonight . Unfortunatly i dont think i can get to the back of the tank its huge and takes up the whole wall.. with the lip on the rim of the tank i dont think i can even get it to hang from the front either..

I will look again for a faulty ground if its not the pump i'm not sure what else it could be but i'll look again..

Whats the lending bank on MAAST? im not sure im familiar with that or have never used it... Im not sure if i can make do with a standard pump because of how its plumbed...

here is a pic of what im working with..

    Thanks Again

    Thelma,

    HOLA!

Ok, so, unplug items one at a time until you stop getting shocked. Something is leaking stray current into your tank. The tank looks great!

Koralia Powerheads tend to short out and cause stray voltages....start with those and another candidate would be your submersible heater if you have one...

Thelma just left with a Quiet One 9000, and they are stopping at HD for some fittings.

She said that the heater is new - so it could be that.
