He plays fetch, walks on lead, jumps in the bathtub full water and does all sorts of crazy stuff! He is also one of the most outgoing, people friendly cats you'll ever meet. He goes to work with us every day and his duties include sleeping and entertaining customers. LOL If you're ever in the 410/Bandera area, feel free to stop by and meet him!

hey guys I wanted to put in my .02. I recently just did a lot of research on dog food and considered raw. I was going to seriously consider it but what scared me is the fear of ecoli poisoning. Ecoli does not occur in the wild with fresh kills so dogs are not built to handle it. I talked to my vet and he said its not a good idea. I am still not sure though and would still consider it though.

With so many recalls on dog food and all the junk they put in there for fillers and to preserve them for shelf life I wanted to make sure they were fed a healthy diet. I found an awesome food called Earthborn Holistic Primitive natural. Its a high protein and grain free diet that might help with the skin and stinky poop issues. I feed it to all 4 of my dogs and they look sooo healthy and they feel better now too. The older ones were getting fat with the food they were on but since I changed it they have lost the fat weight and have been getting more muscle. The protein content in Earthborn is 38% vs.about 11% in other normal foods like pedigree. Petsmart does not sell it but I know Polly's does for about $48 for a 30 lb bag. The beauty about this food is you don't have to feed the dog as much so it lasts longer.

I think I'm going to do a poll on raw meat diets.

FYI, most vets are gonna say no to a raw diet. They get almost zero training in animal nutrition in school. The stuff you see prominently displayed at their office is there because that particular company offers the most incentives for carrying it. Animals have a different digestive system than we do, so bacteria that can hurt humans has little to no effect on cats and dogs. In the wild, wolves and leopards do not eat corn or vegetables and would happily eat a 2 day old kill if they found it.
When I was researching Bengal breeders, most that I talked to were 100% in favor of a raw diet. The ones who weren't also happened to be the ones with the most available kittens...ie, someone who was breeding quantity instead of quality.
