Hey Troy, were'nt we just talking about this the other night?
I remember reading in a gardening book that slicing the ends and buds off of plants helps them achieve better growth and health because there are proteins locked up in the leaves and flowers. When these different sources of energy are released back into the vascular system of the plant, it helps fuel new growth.
Excluding the risk of infection from the fresh cuts, I think something similar happens to corals when we frag them. But, I still don't agree with over fragging small corals. I think frags should come from mature colonies.
