Default Thank Goodness for Texas Hospitality!

While in North Carolina this last week we decided to take a 15 minute drive to a LFS there..It was all saltwater with fish and coral so I thought it wouldn't be a bad place to visit just to see what they have. As we walk in, one of the employees was walking out.. walked right past us without even looking at us. No "Hi", "hey", Nothing. that left us alone in the store with the only other employee, owner, or whomever it was, she was sitting in the office towards the back of the store.. I could see her sitting there but she never even poked her head out of the office...We looked around at the nice selection of fish for at least 10 minutes, then looked for another 10 min or so at the corals on the other wall. after being in there for close to 20 min. talking about the fish and corals with my wife, the first employee that left came back in. walked right between us without even looking at us and went to the back to talk to the lady sitting on the computer in the office. They continued to chat oblivious to our presence as we walked out the door...We were in that store for almost 30 min without one look or acknowledgement that we were even there!!!!!!!!! I thought about saying something just because it was so freaking rude..but I decided to let it go and not let it ruin my day... WoW

On a positive note: maybe people in NC are less likely to steal a clam or a sump or whatever has been hauled out of our local stores in the last year!

Funny cause I've experianced quite the opposite - between Texas and other Southern States - not LFS though! My parents lived in North Caro. for years and I always noticed how polite people are there compared to Texas - well San Antonio specifically. But now they live in the Boston area - Heeeh, big difference. I'll give Texas props over anywhere up there.

We should also thank goodness for LFS prices in Texas...I went to NY earlier this summer and popped into the most recommeded LFS in the area...of course this was NY with high overhead so pricing was much higher than ours....

Oh ya I agree. Our LFS's hook us up. They compete with online prices big time.
