I assume that this is a glass tank...

In order to fix the tank properly, it will have to be emptied, drained and resealed. Any other fix will be only temporary. Depending on where the leak is coming from, I would consider clamping the tank using large clamps to prevent the seam from splitting more. Probably not the news you wanted to hear at 3:30 in the morning.
