    Default Scorpion

I just shook off another scorpion. I jsut hate them. HATE them. They totally creep me out. So I looked around online and found this cool article: http://www.bugspray.com/article/scorpions.html In it it shows a video. Scorpions are fluorescent under black light!!! That's pretty convenient, don't you think. And it's kind of pricey but I would love to have a bug vacuum/zapper! : http://www.bugspraycart.com/traps/el...g-vacuumzapper

I knew emperor scorpions sold in pet stores glowed under black light. It never occured to me to see if other critters glow.

I got a "Urine Finder" black light... its surprising what it shows - not just urine. (Corals sure look cool!)

Instead of an expensive black light vacuum you could get a $15 black light flashlight and an old shoe.

Yeah I went on amazon and the reviewers said the amazing bug vac zapper sucks. Or rather it doesn't. Or at least not enough.
Shoe works on tile but on carpet they are so flat that it takes forever to shoe-kill them.
I do however have a UV flashlight coming my way now. lol

Scorpions are creepy little critters! Mind the insides of your shoes and clothes! When we lived in the apartment, on the second floor, I found one in a picture frame that was hung on our wall. I squealed like a pig!

My understanding is that only some scorpions are viewable under UV/Blacklight - and our local ones aren't that kind?

Just like roaches, I find Roachpruff (or Boric Acid) works best.

Kristy's favorite method to kill them is to scoop them up into a glass and microwave them. Only way to be sure, nuke them from orbit.I saw one fall into the deep end of my fathers pool and climb back up the side until it got to the tile and couldn't climb any further. It just hung there until it finally drowned, must have been underwater 5-6 minutes before dying.
