Red Sea Reef Colors

Is anyone else out there using this regimen? I know Mr. Stang is using the entire line. I'm curious to see if anyone else has any positive/negative feedback.

I'm using part C, which is iron, manganese, cobalt, copper, zinc, chrome, and nickel. It's supposed to enhance the green pigments in corals (sps, lps, softie).

I mainly use it for the iron. Karin's seahorse thread had a link to an article that showed how proper iron levels would benefit macro algae at the expense of nuisance algae. My cheato turned a reallly dark green color within days of adding the supplement. It's also growing like crazy. A 500 ml bottle for each part runs about $13.



The additives are also supposed to be used in conjuction with Red Sea's Reef Colors test kit, which looks at iodine, potassium, and iron. I can't vouch for accuracy, but I've always trusted their products. This is one of the nicest constructed kits I've ever seen. It comes with a hard plastic container and a bazillion pieces. Each step is clearly laid out on individual cards. The kits also show a nice range on the color cards so you can get a good reading.

So far, I'd recommend this program to anyone that's running a system that has a low nutrient level and/or is already using trace element supplements. They don't cost any more than the other brands, and the ability to dial in the trace element levels is a nice touch.

Can't speak for the product but our copper levels are already much higher than found in NSW (varies per brand of salt) so I don't add any elements that include copper as an ingredient.
