Default maroon clown hasn't eaten in 2 weeks.

i bought a maroon clownfish about may 1st and it has not eaten a thing. i have tried flake food, pellets, frozen mysis, frozen brine. today i seen the maroon try to nip the flake food but did not take it. i have tried garlic also. i dont know what else to try. i might try some cyclops tomorrow only because that's the only other item i read they eat. the fish doesn't seem to have a skinny stomache but i can't believe it could live much longer can it. what else can i try, thanks.

How big is the tank, how long has it been up, and what else is in there with the maroon? Was the maroon captive bred or wild caught?

What brand of frozen have you tried? Do you thaw/drain it? What about the garlic, what brand, how fresh?

the tank is 40 breeder, the fish was moved from 75 gallon because it wasnt eating. only has one crab and live rock in the tank. i'm not sure if it is wild or not, i bought it at texas tropical. i hope it isn't wild, aren't they harder to start feeding. i do thaw the food.

Try turning off the pumps and dedicating the evening to spot feeding. If all else fails, get some ghost shrimp and hopefully that will buy some time.

There's also those marine grass shrimp. They won't croak in the saltwater like the ghost shrimp, so if he's shy about chasing the food while you watch they'll last a little longer.

How long ago did you move him to the different tank? If there was something bullying him in the previous tank, and then he went through a traumatic netting experience, he may not eat right away. If it's been awhile even in the 40b, then there might be something else causing his problem.

The frozen food... when you thaw it, do you drain it? If it seems like the run off is chunky, or slimy, the food may be bad. Every time food is defrosted and refrozen it loses some of its nutrition. And mysis in particular gets really nasty. I make my own food mix, so I know my food has already been partially defrosted once, so if I defrost more than I need, I never refreeze it for later use. And you never know how many times the temperature drops in the freezer at the LFS as people browse.

I forget that Polly's carries the marine shrimp. Def. a much better choice.
