    Default Reef Octo XS200

Is anyone running this skimmer on their system? If so I would like to know some info about the scicce psk 1000 pump. I am seeing that there is discrepancy power consumption for the pump.

your right about the pump being a lil sketchy. Im about to get a new skimmer and after alot of research the October xtreme with the bubble blaster is the way to go, I'm going to get the 2000sss maybe the 1000sss depends on space.

Hahaha, Thanks Gabe but my choices are always run by you first so it became a no brainer once you said it was a good skimmer!

Chris I really would have liked to get the bubble blaster but I feel this one will be more than adequate for a first tank setup. It maxes out at more than 2X the size of the tank minus all the displacement. We also figured that the 880 gph pump for this skimmer pulls 60 watts instead of what MD claims as under30 watts. We just figure that was a general statement for all their pumps.

Good choice and glad you researched first what would best suit your tanks needs, also no such thing as over skimming in my book. make sure you post some pics of this bad boy up and running after you get it.
