    Default Flow options

I am planning a new build of a 36x24x24 tank. I am thinking of either a closed loop, wavebox or???? I really dont want power heads in the tank. This is will an SPS dominant tank with a few lps. Ideas?
    Thanks

a wave box would produce a very fast wave in a tank that size. the wave would travel from one end of the tank to the other and back in about 1 second. i vote closed loop using a sicce 5 - that is what i had on my 150 (just one foot longer than the tank you are setting up) and it had pretty good flow. i also had eductors on the outflow pipes which really helped.

Isn't a wavebox much bigger than outside motor powerheads (Vortech, etc.)? Why wavebox but not powerheads?

Very intresting! Will the flow from the sicce 5 with the enductors be enough for SPS? Also on a closed loop is it better on the back or bottom?

lol...very true. Also thinking about the Vortech since its smaller but from what i hear it creates nice flow. How much noice does it make?

i have my closed loop in the bottom since the tank is viewable on all sides. i dont think it really matters for functionality. i think you will have enough flow for sps in most of the tank, with a few areas of lower flow if you go that route. it all depends on how you set up the outflow.
