Awesome write up, Aggie. Sometimes it can be hard to tell someone what they don't want to hear and get them to really hear it. You put a lot of time and effort into that write up, spending your personal time on it because you want to help. Hopefully that is recognized and appreciated.
You've had bad luck somewhere, maybe it wasn't Ebay. Your skimmer, your HOB sump... buying things used and cheap because you're hoping its an awesome deal didn't always work out, you've admitted yourself. But if you keep shopping for cheap products and then expect someone locally to fix your problem, you're going to end up spending more in the long run. There are not many viable short cuts in this hobby. You can't expect employees at LFS to fix the junk you buy elsewhere.Originally Posted by Ichthy
