I was also wondering the same. Also what kind of spread do these put out? Would it cover a 2'x2' cube?

i walked into aquarium designs today and they just happened to have it in stock. so i just had to buy it. i put it on my 30 gallon cube. 19x19x19. and it covers it very nicely. right now its about 2 in from water. but making an acrylic box/canopy to house the light. it will then be 4-5in from water. when i had it at 4-5 in it didnt have any light bleed on the ends. so far im liking the light.
