    I have a ehiem 2215. Works, but has a couple quirks. Yours for $25.

    a bit large for what i need i need something for tanks under 50 gallon

    The 2215 is a good size for <50g. It is a little finicky to start (but i've been told all canister filters are that way) and needs a couple clips around the lid (which only matter if you are turning the filter off).

    The flow on the 2026 is adjustable. You just pull back on the release valve.
