    Thanks everyone! Justin it's not a stupid question lol. Yes thats the umbilical cord it looks like that because all of the blood is drained from it.

    LOl I am picturing you planning around taking care of a baby with a long cord like that hanging off of it. They usually don't have that whole tail attached to them though. Both of mine were born at home so we do a lot of things different but this is what it usually looks like when you get the critter handed over:

    HAHA no that is just the length it was in the operating room. It is short just like the one in the pic you posted .

    Yeah, they go from cute and cuddly, to bruised and rambunctious, to dark and pimply, to college hopeful and potential moneypit.

    I'm at the second to last stage with mine, and really miss the cute and cuddly part.

    Enjoy it while it lasts Rick. This your first?
